HINTS FOR EFFECTIVE STUDY

1. Set apart a fixed time for study at home.

2. Revise the work done in the class before coming to the next class.

3. Be diligent to do assigned home work.

4. Remember that asking questions is the key to learning. Never hesitate to ask questions about subject matter, in and out of class.

5. When you are studying, imagine that you will have to explain the lesson to another person.

6 Take notes when you read extra books.

7. Do your home-work neatly and date it.

8. Remember that no amount of private study or tuition can replace active listening in class.

9. Moderation in games, food and recreation is helpful to study.

10. Note down in your diary the work assigned by the teacher.

11. Private tuition generally reduces self confidence and encourages laziness. Avoid it as far as possible.

12. Repeat your lessons with a good companion if possible.

FOSTER THESE HABITS

1. Be always friendly and considerate towards others in and out of school.

2. Avoid vulgarity in talk and behaviour.

3. Accept the work assigned and do it well.

4. Get up when any Priest, Teacher or Visitor enters any room in which you happen to be.

5. Respect the beauty of the school premises and report any damage which may be noticed.

6. Avoid dropping waste paper in the school premises and pick any such paper dropped by others.

7. Shun crowding round visitors.

8. Remember that it is harmful to health to buy eatables sold on the roadside.

9. Consider public property as your own property.
